We connect people with extra surf gear to those who need it most — keeping boards in the water and the stoke alive on the Ballena Coast.
Surf equipment is expensive and out of reach for many people in our community. Uvita Surf Collective bridges that gap — collecting donated gear and getting it into the hands of people who want to surf but can't afford the equipment.
For many of us, standing sideways on a board has been more than a sport — it's been a way to navigate life, find purpose, and build identity through difficult times. USC exists to pass that on. We're a community-rooted collective helping local kids discover the ocean and everything that comes with it — no bureaucracy, just stoke.
Surfing shouldn't be reserved for those who can afford it. We work to make the ocean accessible to every kid in our community.
Standing sideways on a board has given many of us purpose and identity through hard times. USC is about sharing that stoke with the next generation — locally and directly.
A board sitting in a garage helps no one. We believe in keeping surf equipment in the water and out of landfill.
Cash donations go exclusively toward purchasing equipment — never given directly to individuals. Donors always know where their contribution goes.
Tell us what you have — boards, fins, leashes, surf clothing, or a cash donation. We'll get back to you within a few days.
Bring it to us in Uvita or ship it our way. Cash donations can be made via SINPE, PayPal, Venmo, or in person.
We'll let you know when your gear reaches someone. A photo, a message — proof that the stoke is alive.
Tell us your story, your surf level, and what you need. Open to local kids under 18.
USC reviews all applications and matches you to available gear based on size and what's in our inventory.
We'll reach out via WhatsApp to coordinate pickup. Equipment is completely free for approved applicants.
Whether you have extra gear gathering dust or you're looking to get a kid in the water, there's a place for you.
Have an old board, fins, leash, or surf clothing you're not using? Or want to make a cash donation so we can buy equipment for someone? Fill out our donor form and we'll coordinate the rest.
